By: Springs Preserve Leonardo da Vinci: Machines in Motion - exclusively at the Springs Preserve Explore and set in motion life-sized machines and innovations, the journey begins on January 26 WHAT: Experience genius in motion as you interact with 40 life-sized machines and innovations from the brilliant mind of Leonardo da Vinci. These full-scale machines were built after detailed study of Leonardo da Vinci’s design drawings by a group of scientists and skilled craftsmen in Florence, Italy. Leonardo da Vinci: Machines in Motion (https://webmail.lvvwd.com/ The machines are grouped into four sections: Earth, Water, Air and Fire, according to the element in which the machine operates or from which it draws its power. Visitors may touch and setmost of the machines in motion, creating a captivating hands-on exploration of da Vinci's creative principles. Machines include such visionary inventions as the helicopter and glider, the armored tank, the drive transmission, the printing press and the bicycle. Each invention is constructed using the materials and craftsmanship available during da Vinci’s lifetime and accompanied by his design drawings.
