Musical Artist Shannon MacDonald Vies for Hard Rock NYC Gig

HOWELL, N.J. - Feb. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Shannon MacDonald of Howell, NJ has been invited by the Hard Rock Café to compete in the Hard Rock Rising - Battle of the Bands 2014.  The top 3 bands with the most votes by 4 pm (et) on February 17, 2014, will earn the chance to perform live at Hard Rock Cafe New York.  The winner from that competition will go on to compete globally in Rome, Italy.

“This is a great opportunity for any singer/songwriter/musician. My respect and love of music is a giant part of who I am. I think all “true artists” are a bit insecure and hard on themselves. Being “chosen” makes me feel good that outsiders are listening and liking. With all that being said, I would love to add another NYC venue to my roster…and surely - anyone would love to “Eat, Pray, Rock” in Rome,” say Shannon.

Shannon MacDonald has performed in the UK at The Echo Arena, The Cavern Club and The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.  She has played on North American stages at: The Cutting Room – NYC; The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ; Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland, OH; and Saint Antonio’s Hall , Halifax, Nova Scotia CA.

‘I Wanna Be Alone’ is currently the #1 song on the alternative rock charts in New Jersey.  The song features Lou Pucci (father of actor Lou Taylor Pucci) on guitar.  It tells the story of a Hollywood-style lesbian romance that went terribly wrong and the young woman, who is left broken-hearted by the death of her lover, pleads to be left alone.  This song has been embraced by the LGBT community across the globe for its openness about alternative lifestyles.
