Golden West Technologies & Internet Solutions Achieves Type 1 SSAE 16 (SOC 1) Compliance

RAPID CITY, S.D. - Feb. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Golden West Technologies & Internet Solutions, a subsidiary of Golden West Telecommunications, has announced that it has successfully completed a Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) reporting on Controls at a Service Organization (SOC  1) Type 1 examination for its Data Center Hosting Services.  Golden West provides colocation, data backup and network virtualization in its Rapid City data center.

Golden West Technologies’ SOC 1 examination was performed by independent licensed Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm, BrightLine CPAs & Associates, Inc. on November 30, 2013.  Golden West Technologies underwent a rigorous independent evaluation on the fairness of the presentation of the description of their Data Center Hosting Services system and the suitability of the design of the controls to achieve the following control objectives: physical security, environmental security, and systems and services availability monitoring.  Upon completing the examination, Golden West Technologies received a Service Auditors' Report with a clean opinion.

The SSAE 16 examination is an internationally recognized attestation standard published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that examines the controls at a service organization that are likely to be relevant those user entities’ internal controls over financial reporting. This examination superseded the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) standard on June 15, 2011.
