He has saved hundreds of lives throughout his career and focused approximately 15% of his practice towards helping those without insurance. He’s moonlighted for many different hospitals throughout Columbus and has conducted countless of operations absolutely pro bono. George Tkalych cannot wait to continue his good Samaritan work overseas and provide his expertise to those who cannot afford medical care. In an interview, Dr. George Tkalych shared that he has always had a passion to help others. His Christian Faith raised him to be the great Samaritan he is today. He explained that there were many incidences where he could have lost his life, but thanks to God he is still here with us today. Those specific life changing events inspired him to go out there and help save the lives of others. So Dr. George Tkalych worked diligently throughout his college career to become a doctor. He attended the University of Saskatchewan’ Dr. George went on to complete an internship in 1977 immediately after Medical School. After that, he went on to completing his residency at the University of Western Ontario in 1980. He then became Board Certified to practice medicine in Canada. From there, the rest is history. He’s helped his patients improve their sense of hearing, smell, breathing. He has also conducted surgeries for those who have experienced head and neck trauma. While many surgeons use their free take a break from their high pressured careers, George does the opposite. His form of therapeutical relaxation is flying planes. He is a licensed pilot with more than 5,300 hours of flying experience. End
