Designer Kina Young Fashions Honor Fallen SoldiersThe Thirteenth Day is a new line of fashionable and trend setting clothing that will be unveiled to a national audience during an upcoming launch in Jacksonville FL. By: Justinah McFadden Books During a recent interview, designer Young spoke about the experience that led to the creation of her newest fashion designs, “The Thirteenth Day Clothing Line Collection was born in 2013 after I learned about a story based on the experiences of the 364th Infantry in 1943. The emotional impact of their deaths, was the basis of the novel; "The Thirteenth Day." Never in my time as a designer and artist have I been so moved by a story that I wanted to create a design based on it. I’ve named it, “The Thirteenth Day Clothing Line...Where power, hope and history meets fashion.” Kina Young’ new line has already started creating a buzz in fashion circles, and several pieces were chosen to be worn in a commercial for a major regional Ford distributor. Additionally, The Thirteenth Day line will be introduced during Black History Month and then begin a tour through a variety of venues during the U.S. debut over the next several months. Casting calls to select models for the Jacksonville kick off for this trendsetting collection will begin in a week. An selection from the line, "The Lola" blazer, was recently featured during a book launch party for author Justinah McFadden. The Thirteenth Day author, Justinah McFadden will also be interviewed about this novel and talk about some of her findings from the more than five years of research that fueled her interest in the controversial story behind the book that leads to the question, “Were 1200 African American soldiers massacred on American soil in 1943?” About Kina Young I got my start in the world of fashion as a young girl who dreamed of being different and creating a difference for every woman. My goal has always been to allow women, and all people find their voice in their clothes. By the time I was thirty years old I had my own boutique Darrian's Dreams. It is amazing how God works and my dream and vision was something that would be displayed on others. My goal now with The Thirteenth Day clothing line is to combine the vision, power and passion behind the amazing story of the 364th infantry and allow their legacy to live on through my clothing line. My philosophy is simple: Never rest on your laurels. What you feel inside should always reflect outside. Therefore, look good, feel good and be great; because you were born for greatness! WORK IT!!! About Justinah McFadden Justinah McFadden is a former New York City police officer, motivational speaker, author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and active volunteer for community based programs. Justinah McFadden is living proof that purpose in life is the basis of everything that helps individuals become successful. As a child, Justinah grew up poor and lived in impoverished neighborhoods. She would witness what happened to those that lacked hope or direction. This experience gave her the courage and motivation to change the direction in which her life was headed as she grew older. In her words, “When I was eight years old God placed a vision in my heart to become a writer. There was a spark of hope within me that always allowed me to know that there was a calling for my life. I want people to know I'm an overcomer because I overcame adversity, poverty, a trying childhood and domestic violence. It all came together when I found my purpose and began to act on it, and although my books are highly motivational they also act as powerfully effective and easy to follow roadmaps that provide the steps that help you realize your dreams.” Contact: Justinah McFadden JMcFadden@JustinahMcFadden.com http://www.justinahmcfadden.com Media & Program Planners Contact: Alex Rich 888-407-4674 Brand Management Associates End
