Altavoz to Accept CryptoCurrency Bitcoin

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Feb. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Rockville, MD  2/20/2014– Altavoz CEO Nelson Jacobsen announced today that the company will accept Bitcoin (https://bitcoin.org/en/) payments from suppliers – music labels and artists – and retailers. Altavoz has chosen to partner with Coinbase.com to become the first U.S. entertainment distributor to accept the digital currency.

“I have been following CryptoCurrency for 2 years felt the time was right to introduce Bitcoin as a protocol, as well as a payment method, for Altavoz,” said Jacobsen. “Moving forward, Bitcoin will be part of Altavoz's DNA and we look forward to helping our partners and others flourish in the Bitcoin Economy.”

Altavoz will introduce the new payment option to partners this month and expects to begin beta-testing transactions with a few retailers prior to opening it up to all of them. The company also expects to work closely with suppliers to get them set up in the Bitcoin system and receive or payouts  to them in Bitcoin currency.

In the future, Altavoz expects to use Bitcoin in innovative ways, such as crowdfunding, micro-payments, and other options that will benefit the labels and artists that partner with Altavoz.

Recently, other companies have expressed an interest in Bitcoin; Victoria’s Secret Stores LLC has signed up with Gyft, an app that lets users buy gift cards with Bitcoins. Other companies including Overstock.com Inc., Virgin Galactic, PayPal, Wordpress, eBay and Tesla also support the currency.
