Follow on Google News | TestResources announces new fatigue test machine for fatigue testing of dental implant per ISO 14801By: Test Resources As with any mechanical simulation test, fixturing is critical to performing a good test. Custom fixtures are often needed in order to clamp the implant in the correct angular orientation. TestResources new GISO 14801 modular test fixture product line is designed for performing dynamic fatigue tests for endosseous dental implants. The fixture product line consists of two different designs to meet the basic and exact needs of ISO 14801. It includes a 30 degree angle and a hemispherical loading member with a radius of 2.5mm to be mounted on the implants exposed end, avoiding lateral stresses. The GISO 14801XY features also includes an adjustable angle and linear slides that allow the sample position to be adjusted linearly in X or Y dimension. The system is designed to be used with a Biobath and when testing in saline is required the implant holder and punch are made of stainless steel. Dental implants have come a long way since the early days 4000 years ago when bamboo was the dental implant of choice in China. Today under the right conditions implants can last many years. Since supplying our first Dental Implant tester over 8 years ago TestResources continues to be at the forefront providing test equipment to help researchers and medical device manufacturers develop better longer lasting implants. TestResources designs and builds mechanical test equipment for research, product design and manufacture. Companies and organizations around the world come to us for advice on configuring the right test machine for their current and future applications. Our modular design of interchangeable components allows us to quickly configure and deliver systems. End
