By: Istituto di Moda Burgo SRL Istituto di Moda Burgo has recently supplemented its training proposal with a new course: Modaris 3D Fit ® - Virtual Prototyping. Modaris 3D Fit represents a progress in CAD technology because it allows to see the pattern prototype in three dimensions. Through this program it is possible to understand how a prototype is, observing the verticality of the fabric. This solution is the most advanced on the fashion market and allows to reduce the number of physical prototypes. It also enables to ensure the full control of the pattern fitting ( fit, posture, proportions etc. ) in all sizes. The program begins with the study of the basic of a pattern to which the variations are made, followed by the study of Pattern Grading and the Assembling. The student is then able to proceed to the simulation training, with the option to choose the dummy. Finally there is prototype fit checking and the prototype preparation and simulation. The course is designed to prepare the students to the world of work through conducting exercises directly formulated on the basis of work performed in clothing companies. During the course the students are closely monitored by teachers. Each student has CAD CAM software Lectra. The course Modaris 3D lasts 4 months maximum with a frequency of 1 lesson per week. The prerequisites for this course are to have knowledge in Pattern Making and in Modaris 2D.
