The one-day tour will travel to Brooklyn, Harlem and the Bronx, and it will include a national press conference at 2 p.m. at Sylvia’s Restaurant (328 Malcolm X Boulevard | New York,NY). All members of the press are encouraged to attend. Hip-Hop legend and expectant mom Lil Kim and reality TV star Yandy Smith will headline the tour with recording artist Juelz Santana, NBA veteran Dahntay Jones, reality TV star Jennifer Williams, and Author/TV Personality Tionna Smalls. "It’s no secret that my son was born with a preexisting kidney condition and as a mom, my first priority was to put his health first” shared reality TV star Yandy Smith, “however, when I discovered my health insurance had been cancelled, I immediately went into panic mode to find the best solution. More than 5 million Americans have already signed up for the Affordable Care Act and millions more are encouraged to sign-up at <http://www.healthcare.gov/ March 31st. A #GetCovered enrollment party will follow the tour with celebrities, influencers and community leaders. The event will take place at Katra Lounge (217 Bowery Street) from 5 p.m. – midnight. Attendees will have an opportunity to enroll for the Affordable Care Act on-site. Affordable Care Act On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act. The law puts in place comprehensive health insurance reforms that will roll out over fouryears and beyond. The Marketplace allows individuals and small businesses to compare health plans on a level playing field. Middle and low-income familieswill get tax credits that cover a significant portion of the cost of coverage.And the Medicaid program will be expanded to cover more low-income Americans.All together, these reforms mean that millions of people who were previously uninsured will gain coverage, thanks to the Affordable Care Act.
