PHOENIX - April 29, 2014 - PRLog -- Westwood Financial Corp. (WFC), one of the largest privately held owner-operators of retail properties in the U.S., has announced that Flower Child, a farm-fresh fast-casual restaurant, has opened at the firm’s Camelback Village shopping center in Phoenix.

According to Randy Banchik, executive vice president of Westwood Financial Corp., the concept that was developed by restaurateur and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Restaurant Concepts, Sam Fox, features wholesome ingredients such as grass-fed beef, wild-caught salmon, organic turkey and vegetables on a menu that steers clear of genetically modified options.  The restaurant is also located across the street from Fox’s current office.

“We are very excited to add Flower Child to Camelback Village, a pillar of the community for over 40 years,” said Banchik.  “It was important to us to offer the community clientele diverse and cutting edge dining choices and Flower Child is an excellent addition in that respect. Camelback’s central location to the affluent Paradise Valley and Arcadia communities positions the restaurant beautifully for the chain’s initial launch.”

The 3,300-square-foot leased space is located at 44th Street and Camelback, a location central to residents of Paradise Valley and Arcadia, as well as the business communities of the Camelback corridor, which are among Phoenix’s most prosperous communities. Current tenants of Camelback Village include AJ’s Fine Foods, Carter’s Clothiers, Wally’s and Streets of New York.

Earlier this month, WFC announced the opening of the 8,421-square-foot Steak 44 restaurant, an upscale fine dining steakhouse, in the former Cork “N Cleaver Restaurant location at the newly-renovated center. The entity is operated by the Mastro family, the creators of the Mastro’s and Ocean Club restaurant chains, and the current operators of Michael Dominick’s Steakhouse at Scottsdale Quarter.
