Design Engineering, Inc. (DEI) Announces New Plans for Tire Rack One Lap of America Pit Stop

AVON LAKE, Ohio - April 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Completing a 4,000 mile endurance race is not an easy task. This May, close to 200 race drivers, professional and amateur, will be competing over eight days straight in the 31^st annual Tire Rack One Lap of America event.  Local automotive performance products manufacturer, Design Engineering Inc., (DEI) (http://www.designengineering.com/), will be hosting the drivers  en route to their final race event.  Competing in street legal race machines, the racers are making a pit stop at DEI’s headquarters between 2 and 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 immediately following a competitive event at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

DEI is opening their facility and the event to the public free of charge. This historic motorsports event provides a rare opportunity to see a large number of world class race cars, and meet the drivers during their pit stop at DEI.

DEI will be joined by several area automotive performance companies including: Mr. Gasket / ACCEL Performance Group, CTEK Battery Chargers, The Collection Auto Group, Fidanza Performance, The Wright Transportation, and CORSA Performance.  Free parking will be available across the street at the Weiss Baseball field parking lot.  DEI is located at 604 Moore Road.

The race officially begins May 3rd at the Tire Rack facility in South Bend, IN followed by races at Grissom Air Force Base, the National Corvette Museum, Memphis International Raceway, NOLA Motorsports Park, Atlanta Motorsports Park, New Jersey Motorsports Park and Thunderbolt Raceway, before making their way to the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course and Gingerman Raceway before returning to the Tire Rack facility on May 10.  At the final event, teams will have completed 19 timed competition events and driven 3,200 miles with 172 total hours of skid pad testing, autocross, drag strip, race track and highway transit time.
