Investigation into Columbus Adoption Agency by Ohio's Attorney General Office

The office of Ohio's Attorney General, Mike DeWine, has launched an investigation into Adoption by Gentle Care, a Columbus Ohio based adoption agency.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - June 5, 2014 - PRLog -- While the Ohio's office of the Attorney General  is not required to look into citizen's complaints regarding nonprofit and charitable agencies,  recent allegations against Adoption by Gentle Care (AGC) have caused the Attorney General's office to look closely at this adoption agency.

According to the AGA's website, this is the third investigation that has looked into the practices of Adoption by Gentle Care.

The 2005 investigation of complaint #277526 was issued on behalf of adoptive parents who feel the agency withheld information from them and did not protect their interests. Accusations also state that ACG was non compliant with Ohio's statutory codes and had been failing to implement and follow through with a corrective action plan.

This is not the first time Adoption by Gentle Care, also known as Gentle Care Adoption Services Inc., has been in the limelight.  Adoption by Gentle Care was the adoption agency that placed the infant son of Benjamin's Wyrembek, called Grayson Vaughn (http://www.firstmotherforum.com/2010/10/adoption-by-gentl...) with the hopeful adoptive couple, Jason and Christy Vaughn.  Wyrembek requested his child returned to his custody when he was 17 days old, but the legal battle continued for years. Eventually the three year child was returned to his biological father by the Ohio Supreme court in 2010.

Current Woes for Adoption by Gentle Care
The current investigation by the Ohio's Attorney General's office was issues by Carri Sterns, the Dublin Ohio mother of 2 month old Camden Stearns.  The AGA investigation comes at a time when the legal team for Stearns prepares face AGC attorney, Patrick Hamilton, in the Ohio courts to demand the return of Baby Camden to his mother. Camden has been the legal custody of AGC since he was 4 days old when AGC took an allegedly illegal consent from Stearns. Adoption by Gentle Care has placed Camden in a foster home in May after the pre-adoptive couple choose not to continue the adoption. With no adoptive family fighting, supporters wonder why AGC simply won't return the child to his mother.
The Ohio's Attorney general office has issued a complaint #08999 for this investigation of Adoption by Gentle Care.
