Follow on Google News | Corp! Magazine Announces Michigan’s Economic Bright Spots Award Winners & Entrepreneurs of DisBy: Corp! Magazine Winners of this year’s awards were featured in the May/June 2014 Corp! print edition and in the June 19, 2014 Everything Business digital e-publication. Winners were selected based on an online questionnaire, which determined their growth over the past year as well as their economic impact on the state of Michigan. The winners ranged from small businesses to multinational corporations, from companies employing less than 10 people to others with several thousand employees. (See following lists of winners.) The overall winner for the Entrepreneurs of Distinction is Lynn Drake from Compass Commercial ITRA Global in Troy. The overall winner for the Economic Bright Spots is Altair located in Troy as well. “Today we celebrated the companies and individuals that received this year’s Michigan Economic Bright Spots and Entrepreneurs of Distinction awards for showing a passion for not only their businesses, but for improving the economy throughout the state of Michigan, as well,” said Jennifer Kluge, publisher of Corp! magazine. Larry Freed, CEO and managing director of 2nd Stage Partners gave the keynote presentation, Strategies for Success: Accelerating Your Revenue Growth. As Founder of ForeSee, Freed led the company for 12 years until 2013 returning more than 22 times the capital invested, growing revenue in every quarter. Speaking at the event also was Melanie Bergeron of Two Men and a Truck. Bergeron officially joined the family business in 1989 when she was awarded the first Two Men and a Truck franchise in Atlanta, Ga.
