Three Leaders Named To Greenville, SC Economic Development Group Board of Directors

GREENVILLE, S.C. - June 16, 2014 - PRLog -- GREENVILLE, SC – June 16, 2014 – The Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC), the county-chartered organization tasked with promoting and enhancing the economic growth of Greenville County, has announced that prominent business leaders David Kelley and Debbie Nelson have been appointed by Greenville County Council to inaugural three-year terms on the GADC Board.  Concurrently, Charles Naselli has been appointed by Council Chairman Dr. Bob Taylor to serve a three-year term.  All terms began June 1, 2014.

“Each of these individuals brings tremendous experience, insight, and achievement in business and community activities to this Board,” said Dr. Bob Taylor, Greenville County Council Chairman. “It is our good fortune to have their leadership and experience focused on the economic development activities and policies that will add good paying jobs and increase per capita income and capital investment in Greenville County.”

Mr. Kelley is President of Kelley Wealth and Retirement Solutions, an Investment Advisor Representative with ING Financial Partners, a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and a licensed life insurance agent.  He began his financial services career with Merrill Lynch in El Paso, Texas, and has held a number of progressively senior roles with organizations including U.S. Steel, National Oilwell Varco and General Electric before becoming President and CEO of Dynamic Software, Inc.  He holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso and an MBA in Finance from the University of Houston.  He currently serves as a member of the Greenville Children’s Hospital Advancement Council.  He previously served on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, the City of El Paso Lyceum Advisory Board, and on the Boards of the El Paso Museum of Art and the El Paso Children’s Miracle Network.

Ms. Nelson is President and Founder of DNA Creative Communications, a public relations and inspirational marketing firm serving non-profit and governmental organizations primarily in the education, human services and environmental sectors.  Ms. Nelson holds a B.A. from Smith College, an M.H.S.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from The Citadel, and is a graduate of Leadership Greenville, Leadership South Carolina, and the Riley Institute’s Diversity Leadership Initiative.  She has been honored with the Community Foundation of Greenville’s Creative Spirit Award, the Public Relations Society of America (SC Chapter) George L. Johnson Community Spirit Award, and the American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal Award. An active community volunteer, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels of Greenville, the South Carolina Association of Nonprofit Organizations, and the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, among others.

Mr. Naselli is President and Founder of Global Recruiters of Greenville, which recruits for industrial companies, especially those owned by private equity. Prior to founding that firm, he held manufacturing leadership and general management positions with Kohler Plumbing and Guardian Building Products. His early career included research and engineering positions with the IBM Research Lab, ITT Defense and ITT Corporation, and a series of executive positions with Sheraton Hotels. He earned a B.S. in Physics and Math from DePaul University, an M.S. in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, and holds seven US Patents.

The new directors succeed outgoing directors Scott Case, Jo Watson Hackl, Bob Howard and Ray Lattimore who combined for more than 20 years of service on the Board. Dr. Taylor expressed appreciation to the outgoing directors for their service on the Board and to the community. “Scott, Jo, Bob and Ray have played significant roles in advancing Greenville’s economic development mission, and for that we are immensely grateful,” said Taylor.
