Delaware Ave Seventh-Day Adventist Church Holds Free Health Expo Sunday, June 22, 2014

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - June 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Delaware Ave Seventh-day Adventist church will host a free community health expo on this Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 10am to 4pm in the Fellowship Hall of Delaware Ave church located at 1845 20^th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404.

The health expo will include free screenings such as blood pressure, body fat, blood sugar testing and dental screening. Results of these screenings will be available on-site, and health care professionals will be available to answer individual questions. There will also be information booths and informative health talks with handouts on topics that include cardiovascular health, facts on fat (BMI), diabetes, dental, women’s health, mental health, cancer prevention, drug addiction and information on warning signs of stroke, heart attack, poisoning, etc.  The professional doctors, nurses and health care professionals that will be available for the expo include Schubert Palmer, MD, (Cardiologist), Lloyd Stoll, DDS (Dentist), Obie Hicks, MD (Psychiatrist), Melissa Grier, MD (OB GYN), Leroy Pasqual, MD (Emergency Room), Sammy Baceera, MD (Pediatrician), Onika Noel, PhD (Medicine), Fayth Miles, PhD (Cancer Research), Michelle St. Fleur, MD (Family), Heidy Lara, MA, (Psychology) Michelle Graves, RN (Manager), and Martha Condori, RN (Master Public Health).

Additionally there will be a prayer booth station with Lilian Franklyn, Kenn Shawver, Fayth Miles, Juanita, Danielle Smith, Denice and Gregory Embrey. A benefits of juicing station with Danielle Smith, healthy food demonstrations by Tiffany Jefferson and Heidy Lara, and many raffle prizes.

Angela Settle, Chair of the health expo says, “The health expo was a collaborative effort organized by the Delaware Ave Seventh-day Adventist church and its members. I embrace the vision of the SDA Church which is ‘Every church a center for health, healing and wholeness in the community and every member a medical missionary’. My prayer is that the Delaware Ave SDA Church can by the grace of God faithfully fulfill that vision through the education of its members and outreach to the community.”
