This means that senders will experience consistent authentication results for their messages at AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo! and any other email receiver implementing DMARC. The goal is to encourage senders to more broadly authenticate their outbound email which can make email a more stable form of communication for everyone. While SPF and DKIM have been the standard and reliable email authentication protocols for decades, DMARC plugs some holes. DMARC is designed to fit into an organization's existing inbound email authentication process. It assists email receivers in determining if the purported message matches with what the receiver knows about the sender. If not, DMARC includes guidance on how to handle the "non-aligned" DMARC is designed to satisfy the following requirements: Minimize false positives. Provide robust authentication reporting.
