By: DotConnectAfria.org The annual forum focused on ICT Synergy and sessions discussing policies enabling access such as improving cost and quality of internet services, Net Neutrality, Cyber security, DNSSEC which has become a major factor in utilizing ICT services. Other Sessions focused on the unitization of Internet as an engine for growth and development, this comes as Africa and Kenya specifically continue to attract global attention on the use of ICT services as a platform for all facets of the economy and academia. Social media effects on developmental issues as well as crimes online were deliberated upon. During his presentation as a panelist, Gideon Rop, DCA's representative gave statistics on the use of social media, the understanding of users on Terms of Services and privacy rights by users. He noted that the most users still do not understand their rights online as well as the impacts of their content. DotConnectAfrica since its inception in 2006 has been an active participant of the DNS industry and have continued to contribute to the Internet Governance debates.
