BIOMIDS, Inc., Appoints Dr. Dennis Berkey, President

COTUIT, Mass. - Aug. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Biometric Identification and Security Systems, Inc.(BIOMIDS) company, has announced the appointment of Dennis Berkey, Ph.D., as its President and Chief Operating Officer.  BIOMIDS is a biometric software security company with software applications utilizing biometric technologies in higher education, health care, and financial services industries to increase operating efficiencies, reduce cost, increase security of personal information, and improve convenience in critical functions.

In making the announcement, BIOMIDS CEO & Founder, Frank Mann, said “Berkey brings important expertise in education, broad experience on a variety of boards in fields relevant to our business, and strong management and leadership skills.  We are delighted to have him join us at a critical time in our development.”

Berkey is a former president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a former dean and university provost at Boston University.  He is a mathematician and mathematics educator with published research in applied mathematics and textbooks in traditional and applied calculus.  He has served on regional and national boards of directors in higher education, health care, life sciences, and STEM education.  He serves currently on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Education and Finance Authority.
