Follow on Google News | Cherub Improv to Perform on Stage as Part of NYC Summer Streets 2014By: Cherub Improv New York, NY, August 4, 2014: If you feel like watching a complimentary improv comedy show outside on a summer day, you can do so easily on Saturday, August 9th by stopping by the Foley Square Rest Stop Stage at Summer Streets, New York City’s annual outdoor celebration. From 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Cherub Improv’s volunteers, known affectionately as “Cherubs,” “Laughter is the best medicine and watching an interactive improv show is a great way to relieve stress,” said Cherub Improv President Jonathan Evan Goldberg. “Our mission is to bring laughter to those in need and we can’t wait to share our skills with the people of New York City,” continued Goldberg who, along with several other Cherubs, will be on hand to perform at the intersection of Duane Street and Centre Street in Southern Manhattan. Coincidentally, Goldberg, who is a litigation and employment law partner at the law firm Vandenberg & Feliu, LLP, routinely “performs” In addition to enjoying the show and meeting the actors, the public will have the chance to sign up to become involved with Cherub Improv and participate in future Cherub Improv workshops. For those unable to attend, they can see the Cherubs perform later that same night from 7-9 pm at the Funny Fair, Cherub Improv’s Seven-Year Anniversary Fundraiser & Show, at The Triad Theater, 158 West 72nd Street, Manhattan; $25 minimum plus 2 drinks. This benefit will include raffles, giveaways, and other surprises. For the Cherubs, performing is an art, a joy, and a vital public service. Since 2007, over 200 volunteer performers have provided over 750 free improv comedy events for individuals and communities in need of laughter and inspiration.
