SAN ANTONIO - Oct. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Stand UP Speak OUT of Catawba Valley is hosting its inaugural Stand Up to Bullying concert.  We are excited to announce that the popular Teen Nation Anti-Bullying tour will be in town to perform and share their powerful message through music. The tour will performing and participating in community events from October 2nd through October 4th leading up to the big concert on October 4th at 2pm to kick off National Bullying Prevention Month!

The Teen Nation Tour is like no other anti-bullying effort!

Bullying is an ongoing issue that continues to affect children, teens and even adults across the United States, Canada and the world.  Teen Nation Tours is a peer-to-peer community service program made up of well-known teen musicians from around the county who perform music-fueled (Top 40 pop, rock and country hits) programs and concerts in addition to sharing personal bullying experiences and talking about types of bullying and prevention options.  Students learn about bullying types, prevention, where to turn when it occurs, and more.

The campaign is effective because the artists approach this important topic by relating to youth on their own level, sharing personal experiences and offering tips on how together they can stand and defend against bullying through music, and to spread the message about the importance of ending bullying and replacing it with kindness and compassion.

TNT teaches students to understand the importance of standing up to bullying and to not allow it in their communities. According to Lee Wilson, founder of the Teen Nation Tour, “One school counselor in Philadelphia said the assembly brought her students to tears”, proving this message is powerful and effective!  The tour will visit over 500,000 kids in schools throughout the U.S. in 2014 and even more through their community concerts and events.

The "Stand UP to Bullying" concert is only one of many exciting events presented by Stand UP Speak OUT in partnership with Lenoir Rhyne University Lineberger Center for Cultural and Educational Renewal and sponsored by diamond sponsors:, OUTright Youth, Cognitive Connection, Crown Healthcare Conover Family Practice, gold sponsors: Dollar General, Commscope Catawba Pediatric, Hickory Allergy and Asthma, and other corporate and community organizations
