By: Grounds Maintenance Services The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin will each receive $10,000, a testament to the dedication and generosity of sponsors, donors, participants and organizers involved in the Aug. 15 event. Money raised at the ninth annual outing exceeded the 2013 amount by $5,000, a full 33 percent. More than 220 participated this year in the golf, fun and food at Ironwood Golf Course. “We are both appreciative and humbled by the tremendous outpouring of support for this year’s outing,” said Todd Ruedt, owner of Grounds Maintenance Services, one of two lead companies for the event. “We cannot thank enough all those who played, sponsored, donated or volunteered to make the 2014 golf outing the biggest ever, and who helped raise a record amount for two great causes.” ActionCOACH of Elm Grove is the second lead company for the GMAC Benefit Golf Outing. The event’s fund-raising took many forms - besides sponsorships and entry fees, thousands of dollars were raised from dozens of live and silent auction items, plus different contests and games. Next year’s outing is Aug. 21, 2015, again at Ironwood Golf Course, W270-N6166 Moraine Drive, Sussex. A multitude of event sponsorships will be available for businesses and organizations. Silent auction items are welcomed.
