First Official SME - Defense & Aerospace Summit in India

NEW DELHI - Oct. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- At the inititiative of the HQ Integrtated Defence Staff, Ministry of Defence in India, an official Small & Medium Enterprises SME-Defence & Aerospace Summit is being organised on 20-21 November 2014 at the DRDO HQ, New Delhi.

The aim of the summit is to bring together private industry, defence public sector undertakings, domestic & international industry, government officials and armed forces decision makers face to face and have interaction about future plans, policies, problems and possible solutions. Industry will also be able to field speakers and exhibit their products so that delegates get to know "Who has What'.

The event is being organised by the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) in partnership with the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and IMR Media.

Delegates will hear directly from the senior-most Armed Forces officers about their plans and requirements. Some of the industry members will be attending to become a part of the vendor development programme of larger industry houses.

Delegates will be able to convey their concerns, problems and suggestions to the highest decision makers in the armed forces.


The objectives of the Summit are:

• Facilitate interaction between key officers of the Defence Services with the SMEs.

• Facilitate SMEs to put forth their views and discuss issues which can improve reponses.

• Provide a forum for for Defence Services to lear "Who has What" within the country.

• Provide an opportunity to PSUs to add new SMEs to their support base.

• Provide an opportunity to SMEs to hear the senior MoD and concerned ministry officers about policies and changes in the offing.

• Provide an opportunity to SMEs to display their products.
