At Morning Star, Thanksgiving Is a Time to Help Those in Need

On Tuesday November 25, volunteers from Morning Star will prepare and distribute hundreds of food baskets for families in need. This has been a tradition at Morning Star for several years.

LINDEN, N.J. - Nov. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Every year Morning Star Community Christian Center (“Morning Star”) distributes hundreds of boxes containing the staples necessary to prepare a wholesome holiday meal to local families.  This is one of the prime charitable initiatives for Morning Star.

“This year, our corporate mission is to give and serve our community through various outreach initiatives,” says Senior Pastor Therman Evans.  “Thanksgiving is the most celebrated holiday to express thankfulness and I am convinced that this is by far one of the most tangible acts of support and generosity that we participate in”.

Last year, Morning Star distributed over 800 baskets to families in need, serving over 4000 needy people.   The baskets contained a turkey and all trimmings for a hearty dinner.  This year, as Morning Star organizes this initiative, community participation is as important as ever.  Companies and organizations looking to give back to their communities should consider a call to Morning Star.

Pre-registration is required by sending an email to Hospitality@morningstarccc.org.  Pre-registered families may pick up their baskets on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 11am until 7pm at Morning Star, 1009 Chandler Avenue, Linden, NJ.    To learn more about this initiative or make a donation, please call 908-925-7979, Ext. 6 or visit us on the web at www.morningstarccc.org.
