Brian Chase of Bisnar Chase Takes Office as President of the Consumer Attorneys of California

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Nov. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Brian Chase, senior partner at the Newport Beach personal injury law firm of Bisnar Chase has been installed as the Consumer Attorneys of California's (CAOC) President for the year 2015. Chase was honored during the group's 53rd Annual Convention at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco Nov. 15.

The Consumer Attorneys of California is a professional organization of plaintiffs’ attorneys representing consumers seeking accountability against wrongdoers in cases involving all kinds of personal injury, civil rights, medical mal practice, product liability, insurance bad faith and other negligent acts. Most recently, the group vigorously advocated for the passage of Proposition 46, which called for drug-testing doctors, requiring physicians prescribing medications to consult a statewide database and increasing the medical malpractice cap in California from $250,000 to $1.1 million. The cap has never been increased since 1975 when it was set.

Chase said he is honored to be named CAOC's 2015 President. "This is also an exciting time to be president of this great organization, which believes in consumer rights and consumer safety. Together, groups such as CAOC and plaintiffs' attorneys statewide, are fighting the good fight."

In September, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA) named Chase Trial Lawyer of the Year for products liability. According to the organization's website, Chase is one of five Orange County lawyers, to receive this distinction and the only attorney to be honored in the "products liability" category.

Brian Chase, a Pepperdine School of Law graduate, has litigated dozens of jury trials obtaining judgments and settlements exceeding $100 million. Chase obtained $24.7 million in an auto defect case for a client who was catastrophically injured in an accident that left her paralyzed. In March 2014, an appellate court upheld that $24.7 million verdict.

Chase has also handled cases involving defective seats, faulty seatbelts, rollover and roof crush accidents, defective airbags, defective fuel tanks/fuel fed fires, and tire tread separation. In 2012, Chase got the Consumer Attorney of the Year Award from the Consumer Attorneys Association of California (CAOC). He was a Trial Lawyer of the Year Nominee in 2012 by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA).  He is also a past president of OCTLA and current president-elect of CAOC.
