Open Doors Group expands California Network for Higher Education

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Dec. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Open Doors Group (ODG) today re-launched the California Network for Higher Education http://tinyurl.com/california-nw-4-educ and announced a week-long celebration http://collegeopentextbooks.ning.com/events/california-network-week-long-celebration on a sister community. In addition to its original charter as the Open Educational Resources (OER) Center for California, the California Network will now also serve as a discussion and resource area for three other California initiatives.

"We are delighted to expand the 686-member California Network to serve the California Digital Library and Council and the Online Education Initiative," said Deepa Sinha, Project Manager for the California Network. "These initiatives are in keeping with ODG's mission to expand access to higher education by lowering barriers including cost, distance, time, and others. ODG welcomes bookstore managers, educators, parents, publishers, students, taxpayers, and thought leaders to discuss the implications of these laws enacted in California in the past few years. The initiatives are complex and somewhat controversial.”

Just as California benefits from a wealth of education initiatives around the globe, education advocates everywhere are welcome to take advantage of the no-cost membership and participate in the discussions.
