Entrepreneur Moms Bring Coworking + Childcare To Chicago

CHICAGO - Jan. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Jan. 13, 2014 –Collide Coworking and Free Range Office are pleased to announce a partnership that will bring regular coworking with childcare to busy Chicago parents. Entrepreneurs, independent workers and part-timers with demanding schedules are now able to get extra work done in the evenings and weekends, with their young children nearby.  Free Range and Collide have teamed up to offer productive workspace for parents, and a playspace with supervision for children between the ages of three months to six years old.

“Nikki Ricks and I started this program to help solve our own problem as working mothers.  Our goal is to close the gap for overwhelmed parents who need extra time to work, but have young children at home,” said Liane Jackson, founder of Wicker Park-Bucktown coworking space Free Range Office.  “Work-Play offers the best of both worlds – parents can be near their kids, but don’t have to worry about constantly entertaining them, or worry about who is watching them.”

Through the “Work-Play” program, moms and dads are able to work on premises with free Wi-Fi, a choice of ergonomic workstations, free printing and complimentary coffee and tea.  Children engage in supervised play and fun activities, including arts and crafts, storytelling, sing-alongs, and games.  A nut and gluten-free snack is included.  The program offers a low caregiver to child ratio in a beautiful, fun and interactive space.  Diaper changes are included and nursing mothers are welcome to use private pumping or feeding areas.

“Parents are so limited in their options to find flexible, convenient childcare,” said Nikki Ricks, founder of Collide Coworking, which offers “pop-up” coworking + childcare.  “As a parent who works from home, trying to figure out how to take a phone call and juggle a toddler seemed impossible.  Coworking with childcare empowers parents and gives them the peace of mind that their children are taken care of while they get their work done.”

The membership program launches Sat. Jan. 17^th, with space open to a select number of children and parents.  Various time slots are available, providing convenient options for every schedule.  Weekday program hours are 5pm – 8pm and weekends between the hours of 9:30am – 12:30pm.
