Waterford, MI – While the economy isn’t in high gear there are signs of improvement, especially in the local and small-business segment. Door Renew is just one example. A new Door Renew location has opened in Waterford. This branch of the Door Renew franchise system will service Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Farmington Hills, Franklin, Bloomfield Hills, Orchard Lake, Waterford, Lake Angelus, Sylvan Lake and surrounding areas.
“Doors get beat up by sun, rain, snow and exposure causing them to fade, peel and crack. Our process restores a door to its original beauty for about a third the cost of replacement,”
says Door Renew owner, Jeff Eggenberger. The company specializes in restoring mahogany, oak, walnut, ponderosa pine as well as other wood and fiberglass entry doors. Jeff pointed out that many of the products use by Door Renew are also used to restore classic, wood boats such as Chris Craft and Garwood. These products are very durable and have provide outstanding UV protection. “We’ve found that the way most tradespeople refinish a door; a light sanding, applying a coat of gel stain and then using polyurethane as a finish coat just doesn’t last. It’s not uncommon for us to refinish a door that had been worked on by someone else within the past year.” Eggenberger also commented that the improvement in the economy, especially housing, has homeowners tackling repairs and maintenance that they had put off.
