The Van Zant Legacy Lives On in Shanytown!

Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida and known as the “First Family of Southern Rock”, the branches of this family tree are far-reaching…sprouting three major brands: LYNYRD SKYNYRD, 38 SPECIAL and THE JOHNNY VAN ZANT BAND. Yet like any living thing that is cultivated, there is another offshoot taking root in this prestigious arena and carrying on the VAN ZANT legacy…and that is SHANYTOWN! And it is with great pleasure that T&T MANAGEMENT AND BOOKING announces the addition of SHANYTOWN to their already remarkable lineup of talent!

SHANYTOWN is comprised in part by ROBBIE MORRIS (drums) and "LIL RONNIE" MORRIS (lead vox/guitar)--the nephews of the late RONNIE VAN ZANT, and DONNIE and JOHNNY VAN ZANT from LYNYRD SKYNYRD and 38 SPECIAL. ROBBIE’S and RONNIE’S musical roots are deep and as fine as their uncles, and like their uncles--they are the real deal. They are joined in this brotherhood by bassist CHARLES MOODY—who has played with some of Nashville’s finest and is equally well known on the Florida circuit, KEVIN WILLIAMS (guitar/backup vocals); best known for his smokin’ leads, and DUANE JOHNSON (guitar/vocals), accomplished in his own right and long-time friend—having grown up with ROBBIE and RONNIE in the VAN ZANT fold.

Together, the band carries on the VAN ZANT family tradition, forging a new path with their own style that rivets audiences. SHANYTOWN cannot be pigeonholed as "Southern Rock' or "Rock" or "Country", even though they incorporate all the genres. SHANYTOWN melds the genres into its own unique sound that brings something to everyone, whether they are fans of County, Rock, or Southern Rock.
