Cardiac Solutions™ Becomes the Supplier of AEDs to CSX

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Feb. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Cardiac Solutions, a world leader in public access defibrillators, announced today that it has signed a multi-year agreement with CSX to become the company’s supplier of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Cardiac Solutions will supply approximately 300 samaritan® PAD 350P AEDs that will be installed at CSX facilities in the U.S. and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.

“The samaritan AED offers CSX the most effective clinical technology available, combined with an efficient design that improves our ability to manage department inventory,” said Dr. Craig Heligman, CSX Chief Medical Officer. “Our partnership with Cardiac Solutions will provide CSX with valuable support in our commitment to safety and employee wellness.”

When sudden cardiac arrest occurs, the heart stops pumping blood to the rest of the body (including the brain) and the victim quickly loses consciousness. CPR alone will not restart the heart. The American Heart Association recommends defibrillation within three to five minutes for the best outcome. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an SCA event occurs once every 34 seconds.
