WASHINGTON - March 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Breaking news- Think tank and other sessions - complimentary tickets, limited supply. Please share and RSVP!

Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC) is hosting our 5th Annual African American Briefing for Financial Professionals, March 23-25, 2015 in Washington, DC.  UFSC in partnership with American Bankers Association (ABA) will launch our first annual think tank entitled “The State of Minority Professionals in the Financial Services Industry” during our three-day briefing. This event will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the American Bankers Association Office, 1120 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20036, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The financial services industry is the most ethnically and racially diverse industry in the United States, yet there is a striking lack of diversity at the top of our financial and governmental institutions.  To take advantage of this opportunity, we have created this forum to be a think tank event for the creation of a Collaborative Diversity Strategy to increase the number of minorities in senior level positions and on the board of directors for financial institutions, financial services trade associations and governmental agencies in the financial services industry.

The forum attendees will include executives of financial firms, including leaders in the areas of human resources, diversity and inclusion, and community development.  During the morning, we will hear from experts like - Valerie Van Meter, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, Chicago Federal Reserve and Co-Chair, Financial Services Pipeline (FSP) Initiative Steering Committee, who will be presenting information about Chicago Region Diversity Initiative entitled Financial Services Pipeline Initiative.  In the afternoon, a number of strategy working sessions will be facilitated by Booz Allen Hamilton to explore key the focus areas to make transformational progress in the financial services industry.  The fact sheet about the event is attached.

We hope you and/or another executive at your firm can join us for this event and will assist us in the creation of this “Collaborative Diversity Strategy” for the Financial Services Industry.  You can reserve your spot by going to www.ufscnet.org and clicking AABFP.
