As of December 31, 2014, The Foundation had raised $3,155,357.69 or 53% of the goal. Thad Woodard retired December 31, 2014 from his post as President and CEO of the North Carolina Bankers Association, where he had served for 37 years. He has also served on previous Hospice fundraising campaign cabinets and has been a member of the Friends of the Cabinet for the “Power of 10” since the kick-off in 2013. “Thad Woodard has been a great friend of Hospice. We are excited that he has decided to share some of his retirement time with us. The Foundation will certainly benefit from his tireless devotion and generosity,” “I am delighted they asked me to serve on the Cabinet,” said Woodard. “I am committed to seeing this project to completion and helping expand the capacity of this very special place that has meant so much to our community.” Currently, the Hospice Home features 20 spacious patient rooms that can accommodate patients and family members, with open access to natural areas and healing gardens. A team that includes a hospice physician, nurses, certified nursing assistants, a spiritual care counselor, social worker, and bereavement counselor provides around-the-clock care.
