Novotel Century Hong Kong Received Caring Company Logo for 12 consecutive years

WAN CHAI, Hong Kong - March 26, 2015 - PRLog -- In 2003, Novotel Century Hong Kong hosted the first ever charity Christmas party for 75 senior citizens of 75-years-old and over on 22 December 2003. The 75 senior citizens are the needy elders from St. James Settlement and Society for Community Organization’s charity projects respectively. The low-income elderly are living alone in poverty with limited resources.  Many of them haven’t had a chance to enjoy a Christmas buffet before.

The Hotel was first nominated by St James Settlement in 2003 and followed by YMCA and Chi Heng Foundation. Each year, HKCSS awards Caring Company Logo to qualified companies in recognition of their community involvement and commitment of being a corporate citizen in the past one year.

This year, both St James Settlement and YMCA nominate the Hotel for organizing charity lunch, hotel visit by secondary school students and sponsorship of sustainable program.

Commenting on the recognition from HKCSS, Darren Cann, General Manager of Novotel Century Hong Kong said, “We always believe that we have our role and responsibility in supporting the community. It is hoped that this little effort will help tighten the relationship between the Hotel and the community.”

It is an ongoing goal of Novotel Century Hong Kong to support the well-being of the community, employees and environment in Hong Kong. The company has proven and track record in a range of community activities: the Christmas party for children from single parent families(2002) and Douce France in Hong Kong(2003), Charity Christmas Buffet for senior citizens supported by St James Settlement(2003- 2014), partnership with YMCA to launch Dining Etiquette Workshop for children from low-income families since 2009, Tree Planting Day (2010-2013), Christmas Donation to Chi Heng Foundation (2010-2013) and Coins Donation to Chi Heng Foundation (2009-2014) and the latest moon cake donation program working with Orbis Hong Kong (2014).

The Hotel also encourages employees to support different charity organizations and activities such as the Selling of Oxfam Rice, visiting of Po Leung Kuk and Blood Donation.
