In Dr. Edwards’ new role, he will work on 510nano’s high temperature electrolysis technology (HTET), known as cQuest. cQuest is a solar enhanced HTET which helps to convert CO2 from fossil fuel based power plants into commodity chemicals. Dr. Edwards received his BS in Chemistry from Morehouse College and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Michigan State University. Dr. Edwards training and experience in Physical Chemistry will help drive this program from a research, commercialization and an educational perspective. During and after Dr. Edwards’ sabbatical, he will look for ways to integrate his 510nano’s experience into the classroom. Dr. Reginald Parker, 510nano’s President, and Dr. Edwards have collaborated on many projects before. Dr. Parker adds, “Before joining 510nano, I worked at FAMU with Jesse. He and I co-advised a MS student, wrote papers, and submitted patents together. He was a great collaborator. I look forward to having him onboard.” In addition to Dr. Edwards working on the cQuest project, he will work on curriculum development for our new hires. These tools will be great for both training and classroom exposure. Dr. Edwards shared “I am honored and thrilled to have the privilege to represent Florida A&M in this collaboration with 510nano.
