Preloved Puts Pet Advice at People's Fingertips

April 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Preloved is the second largest online marketplace in the UK where members can buy, sell and share ideas with an active community of 2 million users. There are over 660,000 active adverts on site at any time, of which over 50,000 ads advertise pets available for sale and to be rehomed, and a further 15,000 list horses and ponies for sale and for loan.

Preloved believes animals should not be treated as a mindless commodity, but as a member of the family that requires love, attention and a forever home. Preloved works closely with government endorsed advisory group PAAG (Pets Advertising Advisory Group), to ensure they have strict regulations in place to help combat poor animal welfare within the online pet industry, with 100% of all animal adverts being checked by a dedicated customer relations team within 48 hours.

Preloved not only meets the minimum requirements set by PAAG, the online marketplace also takes steps to educate buyers and sellers about responsible pet ownership via their pets blog and animal welfare pages by maintaining regular contact with leading animal welfare charities in the UK.

Preloved also launched a Facebook page dedicated solely to pets in November 2014. Here the site shares member "Pupdate" stories - where members talk about their personal experiences and give advice - as well as promoting various pet welfare articles, all in an attempt to educate followers about responsible pet ownership. As a next step in the Pets agenda, Preloved have released an app dedicated to pets in partnership with Snaply.

Available to download for both android and iOS smart phones, the Pets by Preloved app enables users to access adverts and Preloved messages on the go. The app consists a variety of pet categories including dogs, cats and other pets, as well as access to horse and pony related adverts.

Aside from the animal adverts themselves, users will also be able to access adverts for second hand pet accessories, and more importantly they will have access to useful pet welfare advice and blog content at the tap of a touch screen, making education about pet ownership on Preloved even more accessible.
