ATLANTA - May 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Season 6 of the Prayze Factor People's Choice awards took place April 24th - 26th 2015 at the SeaGarden Beach Resort in Montego Bay Jamaica and it was a weekend filled with the glitz, glamour and celebration of some of the best independent gospel artists in the world.  Contemporary Urban psalmist "Jcee Jermet" took top honors as the grand finale' champion.

Jamaica-born J Cee Jermet was among the 10 nominees in the Grand Finale of the Prayze Factor Awards, which was the inaugural presentation of the awards international leg now based out of Montego Bay Jamaica and will have anual events every spring.

Jcee is one of Jamaica’s leading female gospel artists to emerge on the island in the last decade.

The Prayze Factor People’s Choice Awards (Prayze Factor) is a platform created to provide exposure for independent gospel artists globally. The competition, founded and produced by Dr. Teresa Jordan (affectionately known as Pastor T) just completed it's sixth season with the honor of presenting the first of many international power praise weekends to come.

Prayze Factor International  presents a full weekend of activities, which includes Humanitarian initiatiatives in conjunction with the Kay Morris Foundation, Acknowledgement of Scholastic High Achievers throughout the Jamaican school systems and high impact concerts showcasing artists from all over the world.

The US-based initiative is similar in format to shows such as The Voice in which the fans vote for their favorite artists. However, this competition is internet based. Contestants are selected through a nomination process by gospel music and industry executives.

Selection is followed by three rounds of competition, which sees the works of the nominees being placed on the Prayze Factor website and fans given the opportunity to vote. The semi-final round of voting sees the selection of the finalists who compete live during the Grand Finale.

The winner is chosen through a combination of votes and judging. Nominees are encouraged to promote their music and ministry throughout the four-month period of the competition.

J Cee was nominated by Toronto-based Jamaican gospel artist and minister Rev. Dr Kay Morris, and shared the stage with other finalists Jamie Hardges of New Jersey (1st place winner); Restoration out of Canada (MVP's); The Gospel Diva from Louisiana,  "Chosen" (2nd Place Winner) also from Louisiana; and Desiree Harris Bonner from Georgia.  The platfrom also honored non performance Grand Champion Charmaine Betty Singleton of PTK Praise in Video and Writer of the Year Categories.

J Cee started her Christian journey over 17 years ago and has employed the vehicles of singing and preaching to share her message.

Closing out the weekend of events was the highly anticipated Prayze Factor People's Choice Trailblazer Honors and KingdomAires Awards honoring recipients Dr. Kay Morris, Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones, Rev. Conrad Pitkins, Rev. Glendon Powell, Apostles Michael & Catherine Young and the Honorable Prime Minister Portia Simpson- Miller.
