Carlisle Events Welcomes Chip Foose in 2015The World Famous Designer Comes to Corvettes at Carlisle Courtesy of MagnaFlow
By: Carlisle Events The appearance, which will take place on Saturday, August 29 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., is sure to draw crowds as Foose is not a regular at East Coast events. In automotive circles, Foose is a rock star, having been involved with the industry since the age of 7 when he started at his father’s company, Project Design, in California. Inspired by works from Ford and Preston Tucker, Foose enrolled at the Art Center College of Design in 1982, but it wasn’t until 1990 that he completed his education. In between and immediately after, he continued working within the hobby. His first job after college quickly lead him to work with designer Boyd Coddington. In fact, Foose eventually became President of Coddington’s Hot Rods by Boyd company, where he designed many of Coddington’s well known creations. Beginning in 2003, Foose gained national exposure through a TLC documentary on his design and creation of a modified 2002 Ford Thunderbird and in 2004, his run with TLC continued as Overhaulin’ began to air. Between 2004 and today, he’s spearheaded multiple projects at the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, has worked with NASCAR and legendary driver Jeff Gordon and even has a line of die cast replicas of many of his famous designs through Johnny Lightning, a model/toy car company. Of course this appearance would not be possible without the aforementioned MagnaFlow. Their partnership with Carlisle Events has been in place since 2006. In fact, they are such a key player during events at Carlisle that Foose is a thank you of sorts; a thank you to Carlisle Events and most importantly, a thank you to guests of Corvettes at Carlisle. It’s these 50,000+ guests who come to Corvettes at Carlisle each August that support MagnaFlow, so much so that they actually do 1/3 of their total business over the span of the three day Corvettes at Carlisle extravaganza. There are multiple aspects to the Foose appearance at Carlisle and it’s very important for those wanting some one-on-one time with him to know exactly how they can do just that. The following outlines the planned arrangement: 1) Foose will be positioned within the MagnaFlow VIP Paddock, a special area set up within their midway footprint. This location will be on the east end of the midway, adjacent to the A&A Auto Stores onsite install garage. 2) Foose will host two “public” autograph sessions, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. 3) Foose will also be the centerpiece to a special VIP luncheon between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. 4) To attend the VIP luncheon, guests must have registered for the Corvettes at Carlisle Fun Field AND have had a MagnaFlow product installed in advance of the 11 a.m. start time. This can include existing parts with valid part number/proof of purchase OR installs done between August 27 and 11 a.m. on August 29. 5) There is a limit on participants, so interested parties should consider this a first come, first serve opportunity. 6) All “MagnaFlow” 7) Registration for the Fun Field as well as installation appointments may done via the Carlisle Events web page. Please note, specific details on how to validate your MagnaFlow product with the company will be made available soon. ONLY Corvettes with MagnaFlow products will be included for this limited availability paddock. Anyone visiting Foose at the MagnaFlow booth should also take the time to check out their products too. MagnaFlow offers a wide array of exhaust systems, including catalytic converters, mufflers, headers, etc. MagnaFlow has these products, plus apparel and more available online at www.Magnaflow.com. Finally, vending and Fun Field space remains for Corvettes at Carlisle.
