Follow on Google News | Pocket Radar’s Ball Coach Model Named "Official Testing Radar Gun" of NFCA CampsThe Ball Coach radar will be used throughout skill sessions, at testing stations and during games at all NFCA-administered camps.
The Ball Coach radar is a pro-level radar gun and speed-training tool for player coaching or self-guided drills, with hands-free operation keeping it simple. Because of its discreet and convenient size, coaches and parents are able to analyze player tendencies without affecting behavior. By measuring crucial results like Ball Exit Speed off the bat (also referred to as Exit Velocity), pitch speed and position player throwing velocity, training with the Ball Coach radar helps athletes get better, faster. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to form a partnership with the NFCA and introduce our technology to some of the best coaches and athletes in the country,” said Steve Goody, CEO and co-founder of Pocket Radar, Inc. “The NFCA Camps showcase many of the elite players in each class, who are looking to improve their skills every day and get noticed by the college coaches.” Since their debut in 1993, the NFCA's recruiting camps have become one of the most popular ways for high school athletes to showcase their talent to college coaches. The NFCA endorses three recruiting camps. While prospective athletes apply for endorsed camps on the NFCA Web site, administration, including the acceptance of athletes, and registration is handled by the respective local staff. Although these camps are managed by other groups, each camp must comply with strict NFCA standards. In the new NFCA EXCEL camps, players will be provided both hitting and defensive instruction. Defensively, players will select the position of choice for this intense, unique learning opportunity from college coaches. The afternoon will be filled with opportunities on the field as players will compete in games. Additionally, specific NFCA measurement testing will be conducted for all players. "We're excited that Pocket Radar has joined our camp team as the 'Official Testing Radar Gun of NFCA Camps,'" said Lacy Lee Baker, NFCA Executive Director. "Pocket Radar’s new Ball Coach model is a great option for us since it's compact, yet powerful, and makes our use of it very easy for our camp staff."
