QIRT Successfully Completes SOC 1, Type 2 Examination

July 23, 2015 - PRLog -- QIRT (Quality In Real Time), a quality assurance, coding, compliance and consulting company for the home care and hospice industries, announced today that is has undergone a Service Organizational Control 1, Type 2 examination, known in the industry as SOC 1, Type 2. This examination determined that QIRT has put into place various organizational controls related to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.

The SOC 1 standard for rating companies was formed under the AICPA Trust Services Principles and Criteria and it reports on various organizational controls related to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality or privacy. QIRT successfully performed all criteria examined by an independent auditor and was approved for SOC 1, Type 2 was based upon examination of QIRT’s Electronic Medical Record Audit System, the QIRT Advantage Platform. Key distinctions made between SOC 1, Type 1 and SOC 1, Type 2 are based upon controls. QIRT successfully demonstrated not only that necessary security safeguards are planned for as required by Type 1, but they are in place and regularly monitored and adjusted over time as needs demand, as per Type 2. These higher levels of controls were examined over a period of time under the guidelines established by the AICPA. Agencies working with QIRT can feel confident that security measures are in place and are consistently monitored to adjust to technological changes when they can be foreseen.
