Shawanda Smith Releases Debut Album "YOU"

Sept. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- Exciting new Gospel songstress Shawanda Smith released her anticipated debut album "YOU with Oklahoma based distribution company Tate Music Group. The partnership between Tate Music Group and Shawanda's AaroNicole Music produced what many are calling the most refreshing new gospel album of the year. Shawanda Smith's "YOU" is a fusion of touching praise and worship mixed with contemporary gospel. The production duo Dorell "Big Makk" Mays and Christoper Surratt whose previous credits include R.Kelly, Ciara, and Jennifer Hudson wrote and produced the lead single "My Turn" which since its release has consistently gained spins each week in radio and streaming outlets.

The title track "YOU" was written by Shawanda along with 3 other songs on the album showcasing a seasoned artist with a great voice and sincere writing style. Born and raised in Dayton, OH, Shawanda was heavily influenced by gospel greats like The Clark Sisters, Kim Burrell, as well as R&B greats like Whitney Houston, Kelly Price, and Faith Evans. When asked what she wants listeners to take away from the album Shawanda states "I want people to enjoy the diverse worship experience, whether you like traditional, praise and worship, or contemporary gospel there’s something for every believer to enjoy".

Since the release of "YOU" Shawnada's performance booking has doubled, she recently headlined the "Cincinnati Black Family Reunion" with more tour and television dates scheduled into next year. The lead single "MY TURN" is performing well, being added by terrestrial and internets stations in both the US and UK. "YOU" was officially released August 11, 2015 and is available in hard copy, vinyl, and digital download globally on all major music outlets.
