Tungsten Carbide Cutters Extend Aven Choices of Precision Tools

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Aug. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Two oval head tungsten carbide cutters are added to an extensive line of premium hand tools from Aven, Inc.

    These professional cutters, with carbide blades brazed onto steel bodies, handle hard wires easily. They’re designed for electronics fabricators, telecommunication technicians, aerospace assemblers, medical device manufacturers and repair personnel.

    Flush or semi-flush cutting surfaces are extremely durable, with a 79-80 HRC hardness rating on the Rockwell scale.

    “These wear-resistant cutters have a longer working life than general purpose models,” says Michael Shahpurwala, president of Aven, a global supplier of precision tools for industrial, health care and scientific users.

    Applications for the new products include guidewires, stents, catheters and single or multiple fillers.

    The semi-flush version has the longest cutting life and produces a small pinch on the tip of snipped wires, thanks to an edge bevel. Flush cutters have a minimum bevel.

    Each model is 120 mm long (4¾ inches), with dual leaf springs and soft, ergonomic grips for comfort and enhanced productivity. The highly polished head has a medical-grade finish.

    Aven offers 34 other styles and sizes of cutters from the Accu-Cut, Technik and Ergo Grip brands, as well as wire strippers, crimping tools, pliers, scissors, knives, alignment tools, hemostats and probes.
