Get Lost in Johnny Kerr's Abstractions

PHOENIX - Sept. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Shade Projects is proud to present Abstractions, the solo exhibition of Johnny Kerrin Bokeh Gallery, which marks his debut at the monOrchid. Abstractions features a beautiful selection of Kerr’s black and white abstract architecture series that showcase the simplicity and elegance of great design. Capturing his surroundings with a refreshing new perspective while creating photographs that emphasize his love of Graphic design. This series of work is also featured in Kerr’s self-published book Abstractions released in early 2015.

He is a self-taught photographer who began pursuing photography in 2011. Kerr Also has a Bachelors Degree in Media Arts from the Art Institute of Phoenix, as well as A Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix. He has a background as a graphic designer and is currently a photography teacher in Phoenix. He has exhibited his artwork in Phoenix and the West Valley in both solo and group exhibitions a various venues across the valley, most recently with RAW Natural Born Artists at the Monarch Theater, the Irish Cultural Center, Gallery Glendale and the West Valley Art Museum. Kerr has had his work published in national photography magazines, received several awards for his photography, and recently served as a judge for the Global Photography Awards.

The Opening Reception for Abstractionswill be held on First Friday, October 2nd from 6-10pm with the artist in attendance. The Closing Reception will be held on Third Friday, October 16th from 6-10pm featuring an intimate evening with the artist, amazing artwork and much more. Abstractions will be on display in Bokeh Gallery at the monOrchid from October 2nd until October 31st, 2015.

The monOrchid is located at 214 E. Roosevelt Street in the heart of Phoenix's downtown Roosevelt Row Arts District. The building is open daily and the exhibition may be viewed during business hours.
