Design Outreach To Attend WEFTEC® Annual ConferenceDesign Outreach will attend WEFTEC®’s annual conference in Chicago, hosted September 26-30, 2015.
By: Design Outreach LLC WEFTEC® is the largest conference of its kind within North America. Thousands of water professionals from around the world will gather to learn about the best water quality education and training available. The conference provides access to cutting-edge technologies and services for attendees to explore throughout its considerable showroom floor. This gives an opportunity for both domestic and international businesses to network and learn about the newest tools available. WEFTEC® boasts 23 focus areas to further education within specific areas of specialty. Examples include global perspectives, urban systems, water supply management and water reclamation and reuse. The conference also provides 31 workshops, 145 technical sessions and more than 1,000 presentations. Design Outreach is excited for this opportunity to continue learning how to provide the best quality water to its global partners. Greg Bixler, CEO of Design Outreach, says, “Attending a conference like this is a fantastic opportunity for DO. It provides us with ways to meet, network, and learn all in one place. Here, we will get to tell others about the unique mission of DO and the impact we are hoping to make worldwide. It really gets us excited about what we’re doing to help solve the global water crisis.” This year, Design Outreach will attend WEFTEC® in partnership with SEEPEX, a leading worldwide specialist in pump technology. DO has worked alongside SEEPEX to create a solution for the clean water crisis—the LifePump. The LifePump is a sustainable, long-lasting hand pump that reaches deeper sources of underground water. To date, it has brought clean water to almost 6,000 people in Africa. Bixler says, “Partnering with SEEPEX for the conference is a great venture for us, and we are really looking forward to it.” SEEPEX will also have a booth on the WEFTEC® showroom floor at this year’s conference. “Partnering with SEEPEX just enhances the opportunities Design Outreach has to share what we do and to get our mission into the hands of other professionals,” The Water Environment Federation has been in the water industry since 1928. WEF is a not-for-profit, technical and educational organization. It has 36,000 individual members and 75 affiliated member associations, which represent water quality professionals around the globe. Along with working on the clean water crisis, Design Outreach hopes to create solutions to additional issues, such as poverty, health and others.
