SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. - Oct. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- John R. Wood Properties is proud to announce Realtor Mike Stone has grown it’s grown team of professional realtors.

As a Sanibel & Captiva REALTOR(R), Mike brings over 22 years of entrepreneurial spirit in working with start-up to mid-sized companies and investor groups. Positions have included private equity and public financing, venture capital, founding companies, executive positions and Board member. Businesses included software, biotech, hospitality, food service, real estate. Mike spent 5 years working as an Institutional Sales Rep focusing on private equity transactions including private placements, bridge financing, initial public offerings and secondary offerings. Mike founded Virnata, Inc., a visual search engine company in 1998 that included venture funding and sales of intellectual property in 2001. Mike worked as Vice President of Corporate Development for an early stage bio-tech company where he played a strategic and active role in business development, licensing agreement with a Dow 30 company, securing funds via private investments, shareholder relationships, public relations and the sale of the company. Mike, as an investor, has been directly involved with restaurants and food service companies, real estate, and other private and public ventures. When arriving in Sanibel, Mike began exploring how he could use his skills and be of service. In considering his lifelong passions for working with people, involvement in transactions, negotiations, finances, problem solving, and meeting some of the folks active in the - Sanibel & Captiva real estate market; he came to believe that he could make a difference and be of value and service to people who have real estate needs. Mike jumped in with both feet and he brings a key sense of understanding that homes are true assets, whether they are primary residence, second home or investments. Mike believes that folks desire professionalism and a superior level of communication when selling or buying something this unique especially on the island.  Additionally, Mike’s lifelong passion for cars helped him co-found the SanCap Motor Club with other island / auto enthusiasts. The Car Club hosts 2 annual car shows raising over $20,000, in the last year, for local charities.
