The Boston Alumnae Chapter Of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc Announces Its Delta Gems Pro

EAST BOSTON, Mass. - Oct. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- THE BOSTON ALUMNAE CHAPTER OF DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC ANNOUNCES ITS 2015 -2016 DELTA GEMS PROGRAM

The Boston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is now accepting applications for its flagship program, Delta GEMS. This yearlong, award-winning program is designed to empower and prepare high school girls (grades 9-12) for life through interactive workshops, community service and leadership forums. Topics will include:

·         Living a healthy lifestyle

·         Financial literacy & etiquette

·         Post-racial America: race & class

·         Piecing my life together: building a future for success

Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) was established as a continuation of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy to help catch the dreams of African American young women. In addition, previous Delta GEMS in Boston have had 100% college acceptance. The Delta GEMS will meet on the first Saturday of each month from 1:00-4:00pm and there is no cost for participants of the program.
