By: Prime Lending H. Roy Bhiro | USAF Retired Cell: 609-351-3619 | Office: 631-391-6461 New York, N.Y. –In 2010, the White House and Veterans Affairs challenged mayors across the country to help end veterans homelessness by close of 2015. New York City has one of the highest veteran populations in the country, with over 260,000 veterans calling NYC their home. Regardless of the number, even one homeless veteran is one too many. In the greatest city and country in the world, more must be done in collaboration with our state, city and federal agencies to help veterans. The “Shred-it” On October 17th, people are encouraged to bring their confidential documents to be destroyed and receive information from a number of local organizations. There is no charge or limit to how many bags of paper one can bring. All proceeds will benefit NYC Homeless Veterans. “I strongly believe veterans like myself have a unique responsibility to bridge the gap between our civilian patriots and our veterans in need,” said H. Roy Bhiro, USAF Retired. “This year when you see a veteran who may be down on their luck, I encourage you to go beyond thanking them for their service. Take a minute to ask them if there is any assistance they need and utilize the Crisis Cards that will be provided at the “Shred-It” All are invited to come out on Saturday, October 17th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and bring their personal documents which they wish to have shredded.
