By: Humanists & Freethinkers of Cape Fear Luis Granados' talk will include observations, readings and discussion of his book Damned Good Company: Twenty Rebels Who Bucked the God Experts, a collection of 20 stories of people throughout history who stood up against the prevailing religion of their time and place, from Socrates through Ayaan Hirsi Ali. "Azaña vs. Mussolini" is one of these stories, about two non-believing politicians who took widely divergent paths, ending in war with one another. The book is, says Granados, a "Profiles in Courage" for Humanists. On his website, Granados describes himself as an agnostic/deist. "I am a suspecter, not a believer," he writes. "...
