Unmanned Aerial Surveillance, LLC Obtains Exemption to Operate Unmanned Aircraft System

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Unmanned Aerial Surveillance (UAS) is pleased to announce that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted an exemption that will allow the company to conduct commercial operations of its SkyRanger^TM aerial imaging solution in the U.S. This exemption was granted pursuant to Section 333 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, which authorizes the FAA to grant exemptions from FAA rules limiting commercial operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) pending the adoption of permanent rules. Section 333 exemptions are intended to "provide a pathway for civil operators who desire safe and legal entry"¹ into the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS).

The SkyRanger^TM was purpose built for the military to deliver a best in class aerial platform capable of operating in harsh environments day or night with unparalleled reliability and mission performance. Unlike fixed-wing systems, the SkyRanger^TM offers a low-risk launch with a Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL), ideal for deploying in challenging environments and eliminating human risk. With 50 minutes of endurance, the unmanned flight captures high-resolution video and still images through a variety of payloads specifically designed for infrastructure inspection, aerial surveying and mapping, pipeline inspection, security and threat management, agriculture and construction industries.
