Follow on Google News | Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival Announces Award Nominations, Special Awards And Dist WorkshopSpecial Awards will be presented to the following filmmakers: Black Fawn Films will receive the festival's Dedication to Excellence in Filmmaking Award for the consistent quality and intelligence of its productions, including Bite; actress Debbie Rochon will receive the Indie Genre Spirit Award for her work on her directorial debut, Model Hunger; and international filmmaker Isaac Ezban, who previously received the festival's George Pal Visionary Award, now receives its Rod Serling Wordsmith Award for his bold screenwriting for Cosas Feas, El Incidente, and now Los Parecidos (The Similars). In addition, festival founders Gregory Lamberson and Chris Scioli will present this year's Local Hero Award to special make-up/special visual effects artist and musician Arick Szymecki. "Black Fawn Fawns has established itself as the Hammer Films of Canada," says Lamberson. "The company's films are tight, stylish and well made on modest budgets, and in our opinion, advance the genre. We've honored Debbie for her acting in the past, but now she's stepped behind the camera, and endured a real trial by fire. Isaac blows us away with every film he makes, and we're proud to present his work in Buffalo." For a complete list of the award nominations, visit: http://www.buffalodreamsfilmfest.com. End
