CNG Fuel Station Receives Industry Accolades The Mississauga CNG fuel station’s grand opening was met with accolades from industry leaders. David Bradley, CEO of the Canadian Truck Alliance and the Ontario Trucking Association stated, “Never before in the trucking industry’s history is our member’s economic goals been as aligned with society’s goals in terms of the environment, particularly with greenhouse gas emissions, than today. There are going to be a number of challenges: infrastructure, getting people used to new ideas, pricing, all of those sorts of things. But I think today is really good example of what it’s going to take. Expanding usage of the CNG fuelling station contributes to healthier, cleaner communities. It is also consistent with Emterra’s view that we can one day live in a world of “zero waste”. A mantra it holds and works towards in its waste management operations focusing on diverting as much waste from landfill as possible throughout the communities it serves. With CNG trucks operating greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by up to 20% plus noise pollution from CNG vehicles approximately 90% less than diesel counterparts. With the benefits clear, Emterra plans to power 25% of its fleet utilizing CNG fuel by the end of 2015. This will make Emterra Group one of the largest operators of CNG vehicles in Canada. End
