ETC… Readers Theatre Announces February 7 Performance

NAPLES, Fla. - Jan. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- NAPLES, FL-- “Everybody’s Talking” is the theme for the next ETC…Readers Theatre of The Naples Players. Experienced and new readers led by veteran directors will present four one-act plays in the Tobye Studio of Sugden Community Theatre, 701 5th Avenue South, at 7:30 P.M. Sunday evening, February 7.

Directed by Ronald Wietecha, “Crime” by Janet Tiger features three men who deliver monologues about events or people in their lives. Are they connected? By a crime? Readers will be Charles Kolmann, Ian Cocklin and Kevin Kenneally.

“All By Myself,” written by Robert Scott, introduces a shipwreck survivor who lives alone on a deserted island for seven years. Is he really alone? Are others deserted here too? Will he (they?) ever get off this island? Ted DeGroot directs a cast consisting of Bill Gallagher, Douglas Degelsmith, Debbie Wesolowski, Rhonda Brazina and Darlene Miller.

In “Overtones” by Alice Gerstenberg, Harriet and Margaret may be adversaries, but they try to keep their conversation refined. Hetty and Maggie, their alter egos, have other ideas. Readers Jan Byrne, Maggie Cosgrove, Carole Greene and Bee Dee Greenfield are directed by Theresa Bill.

Another play by Alice Gerstenberg, “He Said And She Said,” presents the age-old story about gossip and its fallout. Allayne Barnum directs a cast comprised of Charlie Sloin, Peggy Monson, Kristin Voit and Cindy Hile. A gossip thinks she knows…something. Is it true? Or hearsay? Who’s right?

Tickets are $10 and are available at the box office, 239-263-7990. Hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and Saturday from 10:00 to 1:00. Purchase early as seating is limited.

     ETC…Readers’ Theatre offers on-stage opportunities for those with varying degrees of experience. The readings are performed without line memorization, props or blocking, in black costume, with limited rehearsals and script-in-hand presentation.
